People burnout and want to recover from burnout.  They want to go on vacation or sabbatical and return energized.  But maybe the cause of burnout is endemic to what they were doing before. Why do they assume what they were doing before is what they should be doing?  Maybe burnout is not a temporary hindrance but a sign they should change their path.

I feel that there's an assumption that burnout is either an obstacle that comes along every so often or that it's due to a weakness in a person.  But maybe it's just a natural repulsion to an unnatural state.  I mean, if you don't like shoveling shit, are you burned out?
