There are two types of people. People who obsess over packing a dishwasher, and those who could care less.
For me, filling a dishwasher is like a puzzle. How do you fit all the stuff in, yet leave enough space to get everything clean?
There's no right answer. The variety of shapes and limited room make every time different. You can only follow general principles like nesting smaller pieces inside of larger pieces. Try to make sure every dirty surface is exposed to the bottom, where the water jets come from.
I get satisfaction from fitting everything in, but that's only the beginning. The real test is a couple of hours later when you see if everything is clean.
