Consuming vs Creating
I make the argument that people inherently want to create rather than consume. But because of mimetic desire, people wind up consuming rather than creating.
I wonder if that's true.
You could also look at it as extrinsic versus intrinsic motivation. Which is better?
Consuming is fun in the short term, but I feel in the long run it gets boring. It begins to feel like collecting.
While creating is truly an infinite game. There are always fractals you can explore. So you can use the same arguments for playing infinite games.
But a supporting factor for consuming is the connections you can make with people who consume the same content. But you connect with them better if you create using that consumed content.
Feel like this is a very simplistic look at the arguments.
