How to Improve the New York Times Games
Wordlebot: Wordlebot analyzes how you play Wordle. The problem is, it knows the entire universe of words and then you get rated on how many words you eliminate with each guess. Since you don’t know the entire universe of possible words (and even if you did, you wouldn’t be able to filter them), it’s not a reasonable standard for evaluation. A better method would be to evaluate how popular each letter that was used.
Mini-Crossword: Keep a history of the times and the hints used.
Connections: Keep a history of the tries. Show the actual words in the Results, not just the colors.
Strands: Have a scoring system. Negatives would be needing guesses and guessing words in the puzzle but aren’t answers. A perfect game would be only the correct answers and the Spangram.
I would totally flunk strands without forming non strand words 😱
