Things You Can't Aim at Directly

Maybe making money in an enjoyable way.
I find most things in life that are worthwhile fit in this category. Maybe because if you can aim at it directly, you’ll over-index on it and ruin it.
Maybe this is also related to how the most worthwhile aspects in life are (or tend to be) intangible and unquantifiable?
Happiness, love, etc.
There's that famous quote from The Little Prince:
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
You can't aim at it if you can't see it.
Some people assume they can see it, but they're just looking at a false proxy (e.g. as money is to happiness). So even when they hit the proxy (the money), they miss their target (happiness) and can't figure out why (they're still not happy despite having more money).
