What Makes Candy Candy?

As a high school fundraiser, we sold chocolate. Customers would order chocolates in various shapes, like Christmas trees or bows. We would melt down little discs of chocolate, pour them into molds, and then ship them out.

Was the chocolate candy before we melted it? It tasted the exact same.

If you ate raw sugar, would that be just like eating candy?
