You don’t even notice a partial eclipse unless you wear the filter sunglasses or do the pinboard-cutout school project. A total eclipse, on the other hand, darkens the entire sky. The moment of totality brings a quiet dusk. The atmosphere is simultaneously charged and tranquil. Sounds fade into the background. When the sun finally emerges, you awaken from a trance.
