I heard people disparaging listening to podcasts at 2x speed as “listening to chipmunks.” I feel these people have a superiority complex and believe they are more “present.”
It could also be an *inferiority* complex - maybe they're jealous that they can't consume podcasts at 2x speed. I know I can't. Those damn chipmunks... 🤣 I should be able to, though... my name IS Alvin...
Ha, I gradually built up to it. I think they have a point - you can't absorb all the information. But I don't think you can absorb all the information at 1x speed either, and the point is not to actually absorb information but to be inspired by the conversation and most conversations are usually not to the point.

I like Overcast's "Smart Speed" feature, that adapts the speed depend on the pace of the speaker
